At the Huonville Police Court yesterday, before the Warden Frankcomb and Mr. W. Page, J.P.,

Thomas Talbot, 'labourer, residing at Baker's Creek, and Hugh Herbert Price, ship's mate, of 127 Goulbura Street, Hobart, were charged with having committed a breach of the peace by fighting in a public place onthe previous night. Sergeant Lonergan prosecuted, and both the defendants pleaded guilty.
Trooper Miller gave evidence that he saw the two defendants fighting in the roadway in front of the Picnic Hotel, and arrested both of them.
Talbot, who was stated to be the aggressor, was fined 15s., in default seven days' imprisonment; and Price was fined 10s.
