Barge Master Dies After Accident
Mr. Hugh. Herbert Price, of Brooker Ave., Moonah, the master of the Hobart Marine Board's landing barge, who was injured in an accident at Lady Bay on Tuesday, died in the Royal Hobart Hospital yesterday.
He fractured his thigh when tie was caught between two logs being loaded on to the barge.
The barge left Lady Bay for Dover immediately after theFix this text accident but Mr. Price spent three hours at Dover before an ambulance arrived from Hobart to take him to hospital.
Mr. Price, who was 66, spent most of his life working on steamers on the Derwent.
Two of the vessels he commanded were the Victoria when she traded to the Huon, and the Excella._


PRICE. - On April 30, 1953, suddenly, at Royal Hobart Hospital, Hugh Herbert, beloved husband of Alberta Price, of 95 Brooker Ave., Moonah, and loved and lov- ing father of Herbert (deceased), Grace (Mrs. G. Collidge), Roy, Beryl (Mrs. S. Tapp), and Hobart (Launceston), aged 66 years. Late master mariner, Hobart Marine Board.
