Caroline was baptised at Maidstone on 29 November 1820. She wasunmarried in 1846, although was referred to as Mrs Caroline Denne inher brother Edward’s will in 1888. However, she is believed to have had a daughter, Caroline Haslem Denne, in Maidstone in Q4 1850(baptised on 17 August 1851); in the 1861 census, she is shown as unmarried, age 40, and a warder at Kent County Gaol (!); by 1888 when her brother made his will she was living in New Town, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, where she is died (at 1 Pearl Street) on 9 April 1900, aged 79; she was buried on 11 April at Rookwood Cemetery. She is thought to have emigrated from England to New Zealand in about 1874, moving to Australia in around 1880.
