POLICE COURT.

There were five cases heard at the Police Court on Saturday, tho 22nd inst., the presiding Justices being Messrs. Coram and E. Marshall.

Dogs AT LARGE.-Bartholomew and Edward
Tasman Reardon pleaded guilty to having their dogs at large at Ringarooma on the 15th inst., but urged that, as generally they took the greatest care of them, the Bench would only inflict a nominal penalty. The Superintendent of Police said the dogs were brought to the station by Hume, the shepherd, who said he had caught them worrying Mr. Joseph Hodgson's sheep. The Bench fined each defendant one shilling and costs, which they thought very hard. The Bench said it was very light.
