Murfet-Lewis
Wedding

The marriage took place on Saturday at the Davey St. Methodist Church of
Rita Emily Lewis, youngest daughter of Mrs E. Lewis and the late Mr Lewis,
of South Hobart, and Allan Heyward Murfet, youngest son of Mr and Mrs
L. V. Murfet, New Town. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr H.
E. Lewis, and the Rev W. A Hales performed the ceremony.
The bridal gown was of white lace over satin, fashioned with a full skirt
extending into a long train. The embroidered veil was held in place with
a headdress of regal lilies. The sheaf was of white gladioli. The brides-
maids, Misses J. Hay and F. Lowe, were dressed alike in blue satin frocks
with matching headdresses. The best man was Mr W. Mulholland, and the
groomsman, Mr H. Slade.
A reception was held at the bride's home, where about 40 guests were en-
tertained. The bride's mother wore a black frock and coat relieved. with
white accessories. A burgundy suit and hat were worn by the bridegroom's
mother. For travelling the bride donned a low-waisted blue frock with
a maize coat and brown accessories.
The honeymoon is being spent in the North. The future home of Mr and Murfet will be in Hobart.
