a dear husband and daddy, Pte.
Andrew Jacob Shepherd, 2/40th
Battalion, A.I.F., passed away
while P.O.W.,in Siam on August 1, 1943.
He sleeps not in his native land,
But under foreign skies,
Far from the ones who loved him,
In a soldier's grave he lies.
In our home your memory lingers,
Always tender, fond and true;
As the years roll by, dear Jake,
We will always think of you.
Treasured memories of a noble life.
-Sadly missed.
- Inserted by his loving wife,
Nellie, and sons, Robert and Kevin,
Longford.

Battalion. A.I.F., died of illness
while a P.O.W. in Siam, August

I have lost my life's companion,
A life linked with my own,
Day by day I miss him more
As I walk through life alone.
Daddy has gone 'o heaven,
On this earth we will meet no
