COUNTRY COURTS
A FINGAL CASE.
At the Police Court, Fingal, on Thursday, before the Warden (Mr. James
Lyne) and Mr. Alex Robertson, J.P..,Leslie Bosworth proceeded against Mary
Ann Shepherd for using obscene language to him, at a place within the hear
ing of people passing along a public place, on July 15 last. Defendant pleaded.
guilty. The evidence of the plaintiff was coroboratel by that of Elizabeth Parsons and Ruby Parsons. After a retirement the bench found defendant,
who had previous convictions against her, guilty, and imposed a fine of £1
10s, with costs. in default 14 days imprisonment. A fortnight was allowed
in which to pay the fine. Defendant was warned that if she came before the
court again on a similar charge, the maximum penalty would be inflicted.
