The original sons of William Benbow separated into three main areas,there are still Benbow descendants living in each of these areas. Thomas went to Heywood and was involved in the Timber Industry, Joseph to the goldfields in the Bendigo area, working on the gold fields. Searsfield remained in Tasmania around the Hobart/ Snug area and his career varied from mariner to farmer. Charles died aged 16 years. Sarah has been virtually untraceable.
