Car Through Fence
Turning a corner at Appledore, near Devonport, on Saturday morning while motoring from Launceston to Ulverstone, the Launceston City Missioner (Mr. A. Menzies) crashed his car through a fence and over a ditch. The vehicle came to rest on the railway line. It is understood Mr. Menzies was endeavouring to avoid two cyclists.
He said he must have stepped on the accelerator instead of the footbrake.
Also in the car were Messrs. C. A. Tapp and A. Tipper, of Launceston.
No one was hurt. The left mudguard was smashed and the front axle bent.
