Mr. Thomas Fletcher Jones, of Hobart, celebrates his 91st birthday today. Mr. Jones, or Tom Jones as he is affectionately called by his old friends is the oldest printer in Tasmania, and has had a life-long association with "The Mecury" and "The Illustrated Tasmanian Mail" ; in fact, he printed the first issue of the latter paper in the year 1887. Mr. Jones was indentured on December 4, 1854, to the late Mr. John Davies and he served 59 years with the firm. He is now very ill, and has been confined to his bed for 10 months, but he is always pleased to welcome old friends.
