The accident occurred on a dangerous turn on top of the Sand Hill about four miles on the Hobart side of Ouse, and within 100 yards of the house occupied by Mr. C. Webb, patrolman for the Department of Public Works. The motor lorry involved in the collision was owned by Mr. T. Jones, of Ouse, and was being driven towards Ouse by William Clarence Jones. The vehicles met on the turn and the tray of the lorry almost completely ripped the side out of the motor car. Deceased was seated on the outside of the rear seat, and received the full force of the impact. Mr. and Mrs. Webb were startled by the collision. The injured man was conveyed to New Norfolk Cottage Hospital on a lorry driven by Donald Addison. Trooper Linton, of Ouse, visited the scene and made a report to Inspector Collins, of New Norfolk.
INQUEST OPENED.
