Henry Biddle was born on 31 January 1810 at England. He Henry Biddle, his family, and William Brown joined a party travelling overland by bullock wagon and dray to the Eaglehawk Goldfields in January 1852. He was Biddle & Brown Timber Yards, Humffray Street South, Ballarat East,provided the hardwood for Bath's Hotel - the first solid constructionon the Ballarat Galdfields in 1853 at Humffray Street South, Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.
