Transported with another two hundred female convicts. She arrived 27 October 1850 on the convict tranport ship 'Duke of Cornwall' in Van Diemen's Land, Australia. She married Thomas Squires on 28 April 1851 at Bothwell, Van Diemen's Land, Australia. Jane Gilligan died on 22 January 1894 at Hamilton, Tasmania, Australia, Jane died on the 22 January 1894, aged 62 years, her cause of death listed as senile decay, (dementia.)
