He George was born in Boston, Lincolnshire about 1825 and is noted as being a Ropemaker or Garden Labourer and a native of Horncastle, Lincolnshire. He married Charlotte Selina Austin in 1847 at Lincoln, Lincolnshire and they had two daughters, Fanny & Harriet. in 1825. He was the son of John Leafe and Elizabeth Peacock. George Leafe married Charlotte Selina Austin, daughter of Charlotte (?), in 1847 at Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England. George Leafe emigrated on 25 August 1852 on the ship 'John Gray' from England to Australia. ( reel 2136/2463. The assisted immigrant index lists the family as 'Leaf') and settled in the Sydney area. They had another three children, John George, Caroline and Charlotte Selina. George is later noted as being a Storekeeper, Ropemaker and Business Proprietor. On the marriage certificate of his daughter, Charlotte Selina, he is noted a shaving a shop at Parramatta. After the death of Charlotte in 1864, George married Jane Studley (Nee Pearce) in 1866 with whom he had three children, Ernest, Anne and Thomas. He married Coleen Jane Pearce in 1856 at Surrey Hills, New South Wales, Australia. George Leafe died on 19 August 1904 at Oakville Road, Willoughby, New South Wales, Australia. He was buried on 20 August 1904 at Gore Hill Cemetery, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
