He was the son of Convict James Batt and Anne Anthony. Convict William Francis Joseph Batt lived in 1841 at The Street, Barton Stacey, Hampshire, England.2 He stole a watch and a swag of silver and copper coins from Charles Tarrant on 9 April 1846 at Barton Stacey, Hampshire, England. He was stole 5lbs of bacon ,2 lbs of bread, 1lb lard and 1lb of butter from Edmund Eyer. on 16 April 1846 at Barton Stacey, Hampshire, England. He lived on 11 July 1846 at Southampton, Hampshire, England. He was on 11 July 1846 charged with 'feloniously and burgulariously to steal, take and carry away goods from the dwelling of Charles Tarrant.' Hewas transported on 30 September 1848 on the convict transport ship 'Eden' from England to Van Diemen's Land, Australia. He arrived 21 January 1849 on the convict transport ship 'Eden' in Hobart, Van Diemen's Land, Australia from England. He married Mary Ann Jago, daughter of John Jago and Susannah Wills, on 17 July 1852 at Tasmania, Australia. Convict William Francis Joseph Batt. He married Mary Anne Monica Jones on 2 September 1872 at Oatlands, Tasmania, Australia. Convict William Francis Joseph Batt died on 27 October 1905 at Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, at age 76. He was buried on 29 October 1905.
