Her married name was Nichols. Sarah Maria Cowen was also known as Sarah Cowen.1 She was born in 1844 at Gardners Bay, Cygnet, Van Diemen's Land, Australia. She married Thomas Nichols in 1870 at Tasmania, Australia. Sarah Maria Cowen died on 17 August 1927.

31 Aug 1825 :- Was insolent to his Master, Mr. WALKER.
Sentence unlegible.
12 May 1827 :- Drunk and disorderly at Hobart Town at 10 O'Clock last night.
Reprimanded.
1 Mar 1828 :- Drunk and disorderly.
Fined five shillings.
11 Oct 1832 :- Drunk.
Fined five shillings
