     Her married name was Nichols. Sarah Maria Cowen was also known as Sarah Cowen.1 She was born in 1844 at Gardners Bay, Cygnet, Van Diemen's Land, Australia. She married Thomas Nichols in 1870 at Tasmania, Australia. Sarah Maria Cowen died on 17 August 1927.

Sentenced to labour the same hours as the Gaol Gang for fourteen days.

25 Aug 1823 :- Was employed at the Government Mill where he was disorderly and disobeyed orders at his lodgings at the Mill.
Sentenced to extra labour for seven days.

31 Aug 1825 :- Was insolent to his Master, Mr. WALKER.
Sentence unlegible.

12 May 1827 :- Drunk and disorderly at Hobart Town at 10 O'Clock last night.
Reprimanded.

1 Mar 1828 :- Drunk and disorderly.
Fined five shillings.

11 Oct 1832 :- Drunk.
Fined five shillings

Note: Had the "Friendly Inn" at Gardners Bay 5 Feb 1861.
Gardners Bay described in the place names register as the opening in the East of Port Cygnet, with Gardners creek running into it.

Tasmanian Pioneer Index Death No:- 647/35 Age at Death 88 years. He arrived 28 December 1820 in Hobart, Van Diemen's Land, Australia from England on the convict transport ship 'Lady Julianna'. He married Convict Mary Walker on 2 February 1836 at St. David's Cathedral, 125 Macquarie Street, Hobart, Van Diemen's Land, Australia. Convict Thomas Wilken Cowen died on 25 June 1883 at Tasmania, Australia, at age 84.
