Her married name was Bellette. Convict Ann Harper was born in 1772 at Bristol, Bristol, England. She was on 24 September 1787 at Bristol, Bristol, England,Ann was selling grapes on Bristol Bridge with Alice Fidoe and Elizabeth Seine on 24/09/1787 when Margaret Williams, aged 13, told them that she knew where they could steal some silver in a house across the draw-bridge. The others waited outside whilst Williams stole a silver cream jug and 11 silver spoons from Mrs Clutson's house at 11 Denmark Street. They ran to Radcliff churchyard where they decided to sell some of the spoons to a man on Radcliff Hill and spend the money on victuals. Some of the spoons were given to James Seine, brother of Elizabeth, to sell. After Alice Fidoe made her confession, implicating Elizabeth Seine, Ann Harper and Margaret Williams they were tried at Bristol on 17/02/1788 and sentenced to transportation. In April 1788 Alice Fidoe was tried and found guilty of receiving bed tick stolen from a shop in Bristol by James Seine.
