Major William T Howe William's parents died suddenly while his father was stationed in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. He and his three sisters were sent to an orphanage in Montreal, from which he escaped when he was twelve, becoming the only person to have done so. Eventually he returned to his grandfather's home in New Brunswick.
He received his rank in the 71st York Regiment, of which he was second in command at the time the regiment was preparing to go to the Riel Rebellion.
After his service in the army he was appointed High Sheriff of York County, and later became a member of the New Brunswick Legislature. at New Brunswick, Canada. He was born in June 1835 at Fredericton, New Brunswuck, Canada. He married Mary Ann Donald in 1862. Major William T Howe died in April 1918 at age 82.

William Thomas Howe William Thomas Howe (1782-184?) was the first Howe in Canada. He served with Wellington in the Peninsular War of 1808-1814, and settled in Penniac New Brunswick when he retired. We don't know how many children he had, but we do know that his son Thomas William Howe was born in England and came to Fredericton NB as Captain and adjutant of the 34th Regiment of Foot (later the Queen's Own Royal Border Regiment). at New Brunswick, Canada. He married Anne Pettit in 1811. William Thomas Howe was born in 1872 at Bury, St Martins, Suffolk, England.

Thomas ? Howes Given name, birth etc. based upon assumption and 1851 census. He was born in 1795. He married Pheobia Woodbine, daughter of Roger Woodbine and Lydia Wildman, between 1812 and 1843. Thomas ? Howes died between 1830 and 1886.
