     Robert Cowie was born on 4 December 1802 at Middlesex, England.1 He was the son of George Cowie and Rachel Buxton. Robert Cowie married Juliana Luthman, daughter of Lieutenant Abraham Luthman and Douglass Smith, on 26 March 1832 at Longford, Van Diemen's Land, Australia.2 Robert Cowie died on 8 July 1884 at Launceston, Tasmania, Australia, at age 81.1
