Convict Ann Howard

Her married name was Lucas. Convict Ann Howard was born in 1758 at Middlesex, England. She was convict on 8 December 1788Born Middlesex England
- indicted for stealing, on the 8th day of December, one corded dimity petticoat, value 3 shillings, two muslin aprons, value 4 shillings, a child's laced cap value 10 pence, the property of John Reader. The prisoner went to nurse the Prosecutor's wife, and carried away the things the next day, and the petticoat was on her, she was taken directly. Guilty. Transportation for seven years. Tried by the first Middlesex Jury before Mr. Recorder.
- held in Newgate until 12 March 1789 when she was loaded onto the Lady Juliana, aged 28.

- Ann Howard arrived on Norfolk Island on 4/10/1794.
- After five years in Sydney, in October 1794, with her partner, Thomas Lucas, and young son, she sailed to Norfolk Island. Three more children were born there.
- The children were all baptised Howard.
- Sept 1807 they transferred on the "City of Edinburgh" to VDL. Lucas was granted land at Kingsborough. In 1809 he was mustered holding 530 acres at Brown’s River, 3 sown in wheat, one in barley.
- Ann continued to work the land with her sons, and died 10 June 1832, aged 74. She was buried with Thomas in St David's graveyard, Hobart. She was Transported on 12 March 1789 from England to Port Jackson, New South Wales, Australiaon the convict transport ship 'Lady Julianna'. She arrived 26 June 1790 in New South Wales Australia from England on the convict transport ship 'Lady Julianna'. She arrived 4 October 1794 Norfolk Island from New South Wales. She married Marine Corporal Thomas Lucas, son of John Lucas, on 17 August 1801 at Norfolk Island; Alternatively - married in 1801 in St Phillips, Sydney, after the birth of their sons. Convict Ann Howard arrived September 1807 in Hobart, Van Diemen's Land from Norfolk Island on the ship 'City of Edinburgh'. She died on 10 June 1832 at Van Diemen's Land, Australia. She was buried circa 12 June 1832 at St. David's Cathedral, 125 Macquarie Street, Hobart, Van Diemen's Land, Australia, buried with her husband Thomas.

Major William T Howe

Major William T Howe William's parents died suddenly while his father was stationed in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. He and his three sisters were sent to an orphanage in Montreal, from which he escaped when he was twelve, becoming the only person to have done so. Eventually he returned to his grandfather's home in New Brunswick.
He received his rank in the 71st York Regiment, of which he was second in command at the time the regiment was preparing to go to the Riel Rebellion.
After his service in the army he was appointed High Sheriff of York County, and later became a member of the New Brunswick Legislature. at New Brunswick, Canada. He was born in June 1835 at Fredericton, New Brunswuck, Canada. He married Mary Ann Donald in 1862. Major William T Howe died in April 1918 at age 82.

William Thomas Howe

William Thomas Howe William Thomas Howe (1782-184?) was the first Howe in Canada. He served with Wellington in the Peninsular War of 1808-1814, and settled in Penniac New Brunswick when he retired. We don't know how many children he had, but we do know that his son Thomas William Howe was born in England and came to Fredericton NB as Captain and adjutant of the 34th Regiment of Foot (later the Queen's Own Royal Border Regiment). at New Brunswick, Canada. He married Anne Pettit in 1811. William Thomas Howe was born in 1872 at Bury, St Martins, Suffolk, England.
