Ernest Cracknell Ernest Cracknell went to Geeveston, Tasmania at the age of 17. He wa san Office Clerk in the Huon Timber Company, Port Huon. He transferred to the Huon Timber Company Store, Geeveston. In 1926 in conjunction with J. W. Nicholas he purchased the store and renamed it the Huon Trading Companies Store. Ernest had an interest in the Congregation Church and was a Sunday School Superintendent. He was also a local councillor. He also took an interest in a local state school, and was a Freemason. His sport was cricket. He was born on 18 March 1880. He married Mary May Jones in 1910. Ernest Cracknell died on 4 December 1958 at age 78.

George Cracknell George lived in South Hobart all his life. He attended the MacquarieStreet School and was a very keen sportsman. He played competitioncricket and soccer. He took over the administration role of the SouthHobart Soccer Club and was made a life member of that club.
He served on the Apprenticeship Commission Board for many years. Hisworking life was in the employment of W. Coogan & Co fine furnituremakers of some renown in Hobart. George served his time as acabinetmaker before he was put in charge of the machine shop. Thisinvolved preparing all necessary timbers in job lot. The timber wasthen taken over by the cabinet makers to be made into furniture.George’s job was one of the greatest importance as no work could beproceeded without his efforts. When George retired from Coogans hewas head storeman. George was not the only Cracknell employed atCoogans, his brother William Cracknell, his sons Bernhard (Biffy) andPaul and daughters Jill and, Ann his nephews, Max and Alan Cracknell,were all employed at there at one-time or another. During theDepression George did roadwork.He was a keen gardener and receivedprizes for his chrysanthemums. He was also president of the SouthHobart Senior George’s last addresses was 34 Washington St SouthHobart. He lived at 34 Washington Street, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. He was a Cabinet Maker at Tasmania, Australia. He married Lillian Masion at Tasmania, Australia. George Cracknell was born on 4 April 1902 at Tasmania, Australia. He married Kathleen Mary Vout in 1928. George Cracknell married Lillian Etheline Warren on 28 June 1962 at Tasmania, Australia. George Cracknell died on 10 March 1985 at Tasmania, Australia, at age 82. His body was cremated after 10 March 1985 at Cornelian Bay Cemetery and Crematorium, Tasmania, Australia..Wall 38W E 42.
