     Her married name was Fitzmaurice. Convict Mary Ellen McDonnell was also known as McDonald McDonnall McDonnell. She was born in 1827 at Ireland. Shewas transported in 1848 on the convict transport ship 'Kinnear' from Dublin, Ireland to Hobart, Van Diemen's land, Australia. She was convicted on 5 January 1848 at Cork, Ireland,and sentenced to 7 years transportation.

where she worked as a servant / maid.

This is probably where she met her husband, Francis Fitzmaurice. She married Convict Francis Fitzmaurice on 19 June 1854 at St. Joseph's Church, Launceston, Van Diemen's Land, Australia. Convict Mary Ellen McDonnell was buried on 11 July 1889 at Catholic Church Cemetery, Deloraine, Tasmania, Australia.

Annie McDowell died on 13 February 1917 at Oyster Cove, Tasmania, Australia, at age 75.
