Samuel Bidewell was born on 6 December 1771 at Barford, Norfolk, England. He married Frances Semmence on 12 June 1793 at Hardingham, Norfolk, England; There are two records for their marriage - which one is correct not sure. This one by Richard Price from Par. Reg. Chr. 1807-12 Norfolk R.O. for
Hardingham. She must have died before 1819 when a second marriage took place for Samuel. Samuel Bidewell married Maria Butcher on 12 January 1819.
