     William Benjamin Lewis was C of E. He William Screen shipped his stepson William Lewis on board the 'Cissy' with Captain Coppin to meet his Schroader family in London. He was met at the wharf by a coach with liveried footmen. he was showered with gifts by his grandparents, the Schroeders, to bring home and share with his siblings.

When he returned for a second visit he was refused admittance because in the meantime he had got himself into trouble with his shipmates.

William and Jemima are burried at Cornelian Bay Cemetery, Hobart, in ajoint public grave. It is unmarked and because it is surrounded by other unmarked graves is difficult to find. He was born on 20 July 1846 at Tasmania, Australia. He married Jemima Cracknell, daughter of Captain William Cracknell and Ann Williams, on 1 August 1888 at St. George's Church, Tasmania, Australia; William Benjamin LEWIS and Jemima CRACKNELL were first cousins. William Benjamin Lewis died on 26 June 1903 at age 56. He was buried on 29 June 1903 at Cornelian Bay Cemetery and Crematorium, Tasmania, Australia. Site L 337.
