Wife of James Lee, also a convict, arrived on the 'Atwick’ in January 1838. She had been tried at the Lincoln Assizes on 15th July, 1837 and was transported for seven years for stealing money. She was convicted of stealing 4 x 5 Pound notes, 10 sovereigns, a four penny piece and a canvas purse from the person of Thomas Trafford of Hatten, Innkeeper, at Homcastle. She was tried with Joseph BRACE and Daniel Green, who were both acquitted, and was described as being unable to read or write. She was aged 21, was married, and her native place is given as Ipswich, Suffolk. Her occupation was Stay maker.
Her Marriage Certificate notes her name as Hannah BRACE and it is not known if this was her maiden name or her married name as both names were used on her children's birth certificates, though the Marriage Certificate notes her as a spinster.
