Private Arthur William Lewis married Amelia Elsie Nash on 20 April 1920 at Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Private Arthur William Lewis Arthur began his education at the Cocky Renald’s School in Mathers Lane, off Liverpool Street. He went to school in wired up boots.
During his time at school and maybe afterwards he used to spend time in the bush at McCrobie’s Gully with his friends. They would often swim in the big pond at the top end of Forest Road. The lads spent alot of their free time in the bush on the big hill above where he lived.
In 1900 and to Arthur and his brother Benjamin Lewis joined up to go to the Boar War in South Africa. When he returned from the war he built a hut in 1908 halfway on the Newtown Track on the lower side of Mount Wellington.
His sister Evelyn Sophia married Walter Maddock of Kingston, 21st January 1894. Arthur and his brother Benjamin would often go with their sister Evelyn. They frequently walked two Cleans Down, a distance of 144 miles from Hobart, to see their elder brother Oscar James Lewis. They would practice a week before to get fit.
On the way they would stay with two farmers.
When Merrill was about two years old his father took them and his mother up through McCrobie’s Gully to visit the Mush hut. He also took his family to visit with his sister, Joseph saying any Lewis,themarried William Newman McGinnis, who used at Port Arthur.
As she is lacked a then moved to Oyster Cove opposite BruniIsland. Arthur was a house painter, and he also worked inside thehouse. Hewould put galvanized iron on houses and fix up the support pillars underneath.
He was also able to make furniture.
Arthur stay in Hobart to get worked, but he moved into his eldest brother's home (Richard Joseph Lewis) at Taranna, Tasman Peninsular.
In May 1935 he bought a home in Bayfield Street Bellerive and the family lived there for 40 years. in 1935 at Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. He lived in 1958 at Bellerive, Tasmania, Australia. He died on 7 May 1958 at age 74. He was buried on 8 May 1958 at Cornelian Bay Cemetery, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, Section B, Site 203.

Her married name was Rounds. Blanche Olive Lewis was born on 13 June 1881 at Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.1,2 She was the daughter of Joseph Richard Thompson-Lewis and Sophie Neal. Blanche Olive Lewis Ambrose Rounds came on a mission to Australia in 1904-06 for his church, The Latter say Saints. Blanch LEWIS was a member there along with her brother Authur. Ambrose ROUNDS served in N.S.W.. He had left his wife and family at home. When he returned home his wife had a stroke and lived for 7 years paralyzed. She died in 1917. The children were about all raised and gone. Blanche had come to Salt Lake City to join the church there. Edmund went there and they were married.They had oneson who died soon. Ambrose died in 1930. Blanche supported herself and lived alone. She had 3 cows and pasture land. She milked cows and lived very thriftily for 20 years.
Many neighbours, step grandchildren, including Helen BLOXHAM, then aged 13, helped her out. in June 1904. She married Ambrose Edmund Rounds, son of William Carmer Rounds and Amelia Anna Longhurst, on 13 June 1913 at Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Blanche Olive Lewis died on 19 September 1948 at Bonneville, Idaho, USA, at age 67.1 She was buried on 23 September 1948 at Iona, Bonneville, Idaho, USA.
